Transcending the Mundane is a fair and open-minded fanzine from Long Island, New York, which covers a wide variety of metal styles, from traditional heavy metal to experimental, black, death metal, and beyond. All interviews are in alphabetical order, and big names get the same level of treatment as the most unheard ones.

Issue #9 contains interviews with Armored Saint, Broken Hope, Celtic Frost, Digital Ruin, Inside Out Music, Napalm Records, Kamelot, Krisiun, Maudlin of the Well, Pain of Salvation, Sculptured, Sentenced, Soilwork, Stratovarius, Summoning, Tourniquet, Transatlantic, and many more.
